Back from Spain

Rogator

Just got the access to the Rogator-Software from my department. A quite complex tool - especially because the content-button for some help doesn't seem to work in this version...just tried it out the whole morning...
There are interesting pages to add some gifs and also buttons on the web. Didn't expect them all to be for free.

Blogshares, a quite strange idea - my blog was already listed. But as Drezner/Farrell 2004, p.8, tells us: 'Links and page views are the currency of the blogosphere'...

Saturday-working

Always the same place in the same university. Even though I know that there are better places to sit, I'm just a creature of habit and steer directly to the place I was last time...wired...I thought the only certain thing in life would be the changing...seems like I broke this rule - another uncertainty...

Found someone in Austria who's having the same idea as me. Uff, yet another one - According to the statistics and also to the stuff you find on the internet, there are not many people out there in Europe who are interested in writing scientific articles about blogging. But I think with the increasing interest of the media, scientific articles will grow as well (Most recent article about blogging on the NZZ Folio).
Interesting links they have on the NZZ-page: I like this discussion - seriousness meets fun: corporate- vs. personal blogging.

KYES and a good weekend!

spreading the word

More and more people in the library - vacation time - I can think of quite better places to go in summer - dreaming on memories long forgotten (already a year passed...;-( )
Back to reality: Just try to advertise my blog a bit with this, this, this and many more...
Uff...just looked at the Swiss Blogs and found this ...a heart-touching life story...

Hei, back to business!! - I've got about 40 pages full of citations of interesting articles/books now, but I didn't start writing yet - The 40 pages will hopefully bring about 20 pages written text - that means I have about 1/4 of my thesis in a first citation-version done!
I'm just about to organize an Online-survey as well for my thesis - But I'm still changing the questionnaire quite often, so it's not in a finished version yet...

Wow - that's interesting - students and profs writing about blogs in Germany - why are the Swiss universities not interested in this topic?? I'm studiying media science at the university of Zurich, but never heard about blogs before...
Hei, didn't know there's a swiss blog scene!! Interesting! See here and here

blogsandmore

In the university again searching for good blog-articles/books, I found this recently added survey with more than 30'000 bloggers participating. Very interesting due to its different results in comparison to earlier studies (75% of blog readers are over 30 years old, 43% have incomes over $90,000, over 90% of readers read less than 15 blogs daily, only 8% were computer professionals, 72% have never read blogs via RSS ->discussion).
By the way, the best marketing-blogs are evaluated by marketingsherpa these days - worth a visit!
The Proximity-survey is also to mention - a good overview of the market situation in Germany.
Then the controversely discussed Berlecon-survey - in my opinion one of the best surveys available right now about marketing and blogs (Obwohl viel zu teuer und somit effektiv hauptsächlich ausgerichtet auf "dumme Marketing-, PR- und Werbeabteilungen, die unter dem dauernden Druck stehen, der Geschäftsführung neue, geile, marktpenetrative Ideen zu präsentieren" -> discussion)
